Rights and Responsibilities of patients
Please keep appointments – time is precious. If you cannot keep your appointment please inform us as soon as possible so that we can allocate your appointment to another patient. Patients who regularly fail to attend their appointments will be informed by post that if they continue to miss appointments they may be removed from the practice list.
We expect our patients to behave towards us and our staff in a reasonable manner. Threatening and abusive behaviour is not acceptable and in line with the NHS Zero Tolerance policy, patients may be removed from the practice list.
Access to Patient Information
All patients have access to their own medical records. You may request to see your medical records in accordance with the “Access to Medical Records Regulations (1990)” at any time. This can be arranged. A member of staff will be present. We will not give access to anybody else requesting information about you without signed authority from yourself. Under certain circumstances, the Courts can request information about patients.
Patient Complaints and Feedback
At Beeston Village Surgery we aim to provide all our patients with a timely, professional and efficient service.
However, we are aware that patients may have a concern or complaint about an aspect of the service provided. If this is the case we would aim to deal with this matter and quickly and amicably as possible.
The practice operates a complaints procedure under the NHS Regulations of 1996, updated April 2009. If you have a genuine complaint please contact our Practice Manager and she will deal with your concerns. A copy of the practice complaint procedure is available upon request.

Patient Participation Group
We believe in involving our patients in helping us plan the development of the practice. We are looking for enthusiastic patients and carers to join our Patient Participation Group.
You could represent the views of our patients, participate in the health improvement of the local population and contribute to the continuous improvement of services
The Group meets four times a year with a GP and practice manager so we can hear your views.
We cannot promise to do everything we are asked but we can listen and will try our best to take into account patients’ views when making decisions about the practice development.
Patient Participation Group
